WHY

I think it would be great to have one long book of why questions... these are questions that SHOULD be answered....... here aer some of mine:

why do people have such a hard time with people who are different? Why are there so many gay heterophobes, and straight homophobs and both disliking the bi community? Why doesn't the united states share moe of its technology with other countries -- technology for growing things in odd places and so forth which could change alot of the hunger experiences the world suffers? Why are people so damned ignorant about human trafficking - thinking it only happens in other countries when really the united states USES the most people who are shipped over? Why do people still not want to pay women the same amount as men for the same job? Why do we put fences up int he middle of nowhere and then fight to the death about that land no one really wanted to use anyway? Why is human services the wrost run, horribly organized, financially inept organization around - except maybe social security -- and DMV -- and the federal government - and all of New York.... Why on earth do we live in relationship to a damned GAME some few people play every day in New York? Why do female athletes have to dress and act sexy when they are out there working fucking hard and sweating like pigs -- and yet are not paid like men who can wear leggings and full dress and get paid literal millions and can look like slobs and get arrested for domestic violence and still go out and make millions? Why do people litter? still? everywhere? all the time? Why is there so much sexual violence in reality and on tv and int he news and in music and books and everything else? Why do people get pissy if you mention there might be a feminine side to god, or that you love the goddess too? oy I think I'll stop for now.... but I have lots lots more questions which to me all seem like the pink elephant in the living room that everyone knows is there but no one chooses to talk about it, or take care of it......

sigh.

question about art styles

For anyone who happens to collect, or who may be a judge for gallery shows or other events, curators, and artists:

Why on earth are artists expected to have only one primary STYLE? If you present 12 different pieces to folks judging you IN or OUT of certain places, they all have to look alike? be the same media and style and so forth?
Why?

I think it's ridiculous. I can understand wanting to see a certain capacity or mastery of medium.... but why can't an artist show this in fifteen different areas? And, why such narrow limits and definitions of what is and isn't art? Isn't it like old news elitism to even have that discussion any more?

I still would like to manage a different kind of art space - almost an anti-gallery gallery -- fully flexible and integrative. If there was one small square off-white room, you could only hang on the ceiling.

I got myself another Guerilla Girsl book.... Geurilla Girls guide to female stereotypes --- bitches, bimbos and ballbreakers. it is wonderful and funny, with really great facts and quotes and photos. It makes me mad and determined, while making me laugh. Amazon had a used copy for less than 5$.

I also completed a Lilly Ledbetter painting.... and written a poem about the whole situation with women being paid less than men. I made it kinda fun, and kinda pissy. I'm learning!

I have also totally redone my old website. It got way way too full and disorganized, and was not in any way FUN, which I am appreciating these days.

take a look if you are interested. Not done, but getting there...
